THIS DRESS IS AMAZING. Seriously, I love this dress. If I was rating patterns on a scale of 1-10 (which maybe I should) then I would rate this pattern a solid 10/10.

The Elodie Wrap Dress by Closet Core Patterns is a wrap dress (duh) with knee, midi, or maxi-length options with short sleeves or longer sleeves. I am only 5’3″ and my height is in my torso, so I chose the midi option so as to not emphasize the fact that I have shorter legs but also to not drown me in the maxi length. I made this dress during the summer so I chose the shorter sleeves, however with the right fabric the longer sleeves would be nice as well. The wrap/tie portion of the dress hits me right at my waist which I like to accentuate. I made a straight size 6. I did take in the shoulder seam 1 inch because my bust apex to shoulder distance is shorter than average.

The construction of this dress was fairly easy for me. It may have been more difficult for someone with less experience, but even then I think that it would be manageable.

My favorite design detail are the release pleats in the back and the regular pleats in the front. They are hard to see in a busy fabric, but the effect can be seen. The pleats help the bodice to blouse out above the tie instead of just hoping that everything will fall in the right place.

The “worst” part of sewing the Elodie Wrap Dress was simply hemming the entirety of the skirt. It took a while and my hem is not perfect, but who will be looking?

There will definitely be more Elodie Wrap Dresses in my future. This pattern is perfect for something casual or dressy.
